"I have been working on using the Keraflex material which I continue to love! As a teacher I am recommending this product to my students" Meryl Ruth

Meryl Ruth's work on both PC Substrates and Keraflex Porcelain is whimsical, colorful and fun. On Keraflex Porcelain Meryl employs a diverse combination of processes including screenprinting, china painting and weaving. This exploits many of the material qualities of Keraflex simultaneously. Meryl intends to mount this work on a light box - the added effect of light shining through the surface gaps and glowing through the translucent layers of the Keraflex, would make for a wonderful wall piece.
"I have been working on using the Keraflex material which I continue to love!
First I did a silk screen image on the whole piece of Keraflex using a drawing I did. I used underglazes. Then I wet the back of the Keraflex, cut it into strips and wove these strips back together. After this, I fired to cone 10 in an electric kiln. Then I used China paints which fire to cone 018. I used China paints and layered coloration onto the woven tile and repeatedly fired to cone 018.
I am having a light box frame created so that light will come through the woven parts of this tile.
As a teacher I am recommending this product to my students as well." Meryl Ruth
