"It is a perfect product for photo silk screening...The tiles are durable and I love how color adheres to them. Both underglaze and China paints apply easily and well."

Meryl has been using a combination of processes on PC Substrates, starting with silk screening and then building up the visual imagery by layering hand painted details. For more examples of Meryl's work, please see the PCS Gallery page. Meryl has also been working on Keraflex, with some amazing results so don't forget to look for her work on the Keraflex pages too!

"I am using the PC Substrates and love, love, love it! I am so excited about this new medium. I can fire these tiles multiple times without fear of breakage. The tiles are durable and I love how color adheres to them.  Both underglaze and China paints apply easily and well. I love how consistent the PC Substrate™ tiles are.

It is a perfect product for photo silk screening. With the frog tile I have created a six part photo silk screen, and then applied underglazes in a variety of colors. I use a warming tray and take each tile from the warming tray to silk screen. After six layers of under glazed photo silk screenings, I fire to cone 06. Then I apply layers of China paints to these tiles but don't seem to need the warming tray for these applications.

I fire and refire to cone 018 till I am satisfied with the results. What I love is that I can practically throw these tiles around and nothing happens to them!"
